Have you, or your family, ever experienced anything with politics ?
There was an occurance that I never forget: my Mom and her siblings applied for colleges in VN, but the Admission people (now replaced with Communists) wrote on their papers the words "Con cảnh sát Ngụy" (translated: "Descendants of police officer before 1975"), and that they couldn't go to college anymore
I'm not surprised. That's the way Communists kept their citizens ignorant so that they can rule them forever.
Now when recalling Vietnam, I only remember the OLD government and the PEOPLE. I felt sorry that my country is run by a good-for-nothing government!
The goal of Communism is EQUAL PROPERTIES FOR ALL, yet I think they ARE carrying out the goal "Properties in the hands of the RULERS"! How ironic!!
My grandpa had two houses in VN, and after the Civil War, the Communists took away one, LEGALLY [at least legally in THEIR eyes].
The words "Con cảnh sát Ngụy" ("descendants of police officer before 1975") that forever changed not only my Mother's life, but also my aunt's and uncles', has become an indirect experience that I never forget. Remember what your teachers taught you in your FIRST grade? ---> "Ho Chi Minh [or Uncle Ho] was a great great person who devoted his entire life in liberating the country...blah blah". I laughed at the faces of those who said that! [Until later, I found out that HCM had a wife that he claimed he didn't have!]. Immediately the day after, all students in my class told each other that their parents told them that what their teachers taught was NOT true, and their parents were absolutely right!
The Communist government has nothing to do besides the desire to practice their UNDESERVED power. They [ppl. in the new government] took away their OWN citizens' - as well as the whole country's, chances of success just because those people didn't support a regime that they knew was IMMORAL ! I remember that many Viet people had said that "Our country is hated by the world," now I understand why.
i voted for stuff, but other than that i'm blind
like i voted for president in vietnam one time and another us pres in school in 5th grade once too, but other than that i'm blind, deaf and paralyze when it comes to politics
LOL...... Class officers!! LOL.... At first I thought, "What?? We can vote for President in VN???"
This made me upset: I went to a Vietnamese forum and I wrote in my signature that "I never hate Communist people; I only hate their wrong doings," and the Mods there erased it and warned me
