Of course, she LOVED Inu. She asked him to become a human for HER.

Kikyo_Fan- 08-23-2004
Ya she "asked", and Inu "accepted"!!! So its fair!!! Inu coulda refused u know!!! its not like said... "Yo! if you wanna be with be you gotta b human!!"
What I believe the real purpose of Inu turning human was to get rid of the Tama, cause I believe that Kikyo said that as long as it exists she must always protect it and her life is really dedicated to it... if she uses the tama to make Inu human, it'll disapear and also she'll become a normal woman!!!!

Exactly!!! I always thought that Kagome was more of the jealous type than Kikyo... Kagome always makes a fuss when Inu goes see Kikyo or when he's even THINKING about her... Kikyo was cool, she left him with her...

hey!!!!! just because your disagreeing on some stuff about kikyo doesnt mean you can just say those stuff about kagome to make kikyo look good!!!! mangaworld/0007.gif

kagome is cool!! she loves inuyahsa! can you blame her for the stuff she does? she always risks her life for inuyasha! give her a break already!!! mangaworld/icon_cry.gif

Okay, I'm gonna give my little speech about Kikyo and be done with it:

I don't hate her and I don't think that she's evil, What I do think is that she needs to go back to the realm of the dead. If she was really this wonderful, intelligent, philosophical, and wise miko, she would realize that she doesn't belong in the living world.

Now, I do understand that she needs to have her revenge on Naraku, and I support that 100%, but I don't understand why she needs to stay hung up o Inuyasha...I think that since she is dead and Inuyasha is alive, she needs to leave that in the past. There simply just shouldn't be a relationship between a living person and a dead one and if she were truly the miko that everyone seems to think she is, she would know that and not let her heart be consumed by a petty emotion like jealousy of the love that has already passed her.

Like I said before, It's not that I don't like her...I just think that she's acting awfully immature for the spirit of a wise miko that has returned from the dead.

Time stopped for her on that very day 50 years ago. However, she is making an effort to move on from that spot and not be all hung up on Inuyasha. You'll see that in the newer chapters/episodes. She doesn't expect to have a future with him since she knows that the relationship they had was from the past and that he has Kagome by his side. Right now, her main concern would be defeating Naraku than anything else.

I cannot think of for the life of me why so many fans seem to like KIKYO! She tried to kill Kagome once, and she eats souls to live. She is insane, evil, and undead that is never good in a girl friend. I hope Kagome rips the rest of her ill gotten souls from her lifeless undead corps…… Why do you people like a dead lady? HHhhhhmmm if she was more like a night of the living dead zombie would you guys still like her? Is it her willing personality? Her smile? Her soul eating? Necrophilia perhaps eewwww?! Or maybe they way she does her hair……More importantly why do I need to know????? I’m looking for people that love her to tell me why. If you can give a good reason I give my word never to say a bad thing about the undead lady ever again.

Tennyo- 09-09-2004
Well, I myself am not a Kikyo's supporter, but I don't find it weird when people favor different things from mine. Perhaps Kikyo's fans don't understand why I like Kagome either mangaworld/wink2.gif

Lord Golemar- 09-09-2004
hhhmmm it must be the undeath I have the problem with. Is she a zombie or what?

Tennyo- 09-09-2004
Nah.. not zombie. Her body is made up of clay + soil + souls of the dead.

OK, if you have nothing more to say in this topic, don't bash the character, OK ? ^__^

I feel Kikyou is aware she has no future with Inuyasha and she accepts that. Personally, I feel together they are incompatible anyway. sad.gif But if someone can fall out of love so easily, then it wasn't love in the first place. sleep.gif In later episodes it reveals how she starts to let go of her past, and the same for Inuyasha. She is focused on destroying Naraku.
But, if Kikyou can't have a resurrected life, then why is it assumed that Inuyasha or Kagome will be able to be together and in what era. mangaworld/doubt.gif Talk about upsetting the balance of nature! sleep.gif

(Copied from my post in another thread. It seems more appropriate here.)

Kikyo is a tragic heroine. I just love the way Inuyasha does these things! It is composed of so many different facets working on so many different levels! Kikyo was not some completely innocent girl who fell in love with Inuyasha. By the time she met Inuyasha, she was already failing. Her youkai-guard was falling lax, she was tiring of her job, and she wanted to shirk her duties, her oath, to run off on some romantic fantasy. No wonder Naraku could bring her down, her tragic flaw made it so much easier! Naraku's is Kikyo's Iago, and Kikyo Naraku's Othello! Naraku was merely the catalyst for Kikyo's downfall. Kikyo was heading for her downfall regardless if Naraku showed. He just helped speed things up. Kikyo's tragic flaw was her unwillingness to continue her duties.

Many have argued on the board that Kikyo's tragic flaw is mistrust. That's just as valid. In fact, it strengthens the argument for an Othello parallel. Kikyo is Othello, Inuyasha is Desdemona (I know, the sexes switch!), and Naraku is Iago. Though Naraku wasn't as subtle and didn't take as long as Iago, he was able to pit Kikyo and Inuyasha against each other. The reason why Kikyo fits Othello and not Inuyasha is that it was Kikyo that had the lack of trust. Inuyasha was like Desdemona in that Desdemona did not know what was going on until Othello came in to strangle her to death. I'm certain any fan would see that in an instant.

Kikyo is a confusing character. She is not evil, but really really angry. She was angry that she was denied of any womanly privileges and the hanyou she loved betrayed her (or so she thought). Now that she is brought back to life, She can finally "live" freely. She helps ppl when they are in need, and only defends herself when ppl (ex: the monk) are attacking her. In the manga, she is not protrayed as a vengeful person to inuyasha, instead she is protrayed as a heart stricken lover. She never put a knife to inuyasha's neck like in the anime, instead she kissed him. And she is always sad...have u ever seen her have a moment of happiness??? At least kagome has.

Kikyo is mature, strong, smart and if that makes her a bad person, you have got to be a man... mangaworld/wink2.gif

Tennyo- 09-30-2004
Why did Inuyasha love Kikyo? My only thought is that he felt pity for Kikyo, for she's been alone. That's all I can think of. KIKYO herself asked Inuyasha to become a human to marry her; Inuyasha didn't want to do that himself. She didn't love Inu for who he was ; she only cared of her own happiness and didn't sympathize with Inu's situation mangaworld/mad.gif
