Yea, I have heard. Near 60,000 people died, including tourists.

The world's most powerful earthquake in more than 40 years struck deep under the Indian Ocean off the west coast of Sumatra, triggering massive tsunamis that obliterated villages and seaside resorts in several countries across southern and Southeast Asia.
Tourists, fishermen, homes and cars were swept away by walls of water that rolled across the Bay of Bengal, unleashed by the 9-magnitude quake.
yeah do many people died but some had very special survival storys. like on the spanish news my mom watches there was a stroy or an extremly young baby who was only about a few days old and was asleep on an inflatable bed when the tsunami came. at first it was taken away on the current with the wave then its parents found it but lost it again in another wave but later found it again and now it safe with its family. a miraclous story there.
the death count has now risen to close to 120,000
I heard on the news that a mother when the Tsunami came was holding on to her two children. She couldn't hold on to both of them or they all would be swept away. So she had to chose and let go of the older one in order to save the other one. She had to make a really big decision. Miraculosly the other younger son was found alive floating adrift on some debre.
How horrible!!

But those kinds of things can happen in circumstances like this

In the face of death, one will show his true nature.
VALUE OF HUMAN LIVES
In Aceh (Indonesia) only, 117000 people died and others are still missing (most likely dead).
I live in Indonesia but not in Aceh. Too bad........, when talking to an anime shop keeper (the same shop I often go into), my sister found out that the shop keeper just returned from Aceh for 10 days searching her family members. No news from her family, you know what that means.... She is all alone now, striving to live in our city.
All of that is really sad. I dont watch the newsSo I dont exactly what happened, and how many people đie. I know that wen I đi listen to the news tho... they sed Jackie Chan broke his ankle while trying to protect hisdaughter or neice... or who ever... and our school is raising money for the Tsunami. So far we have over 2000 dollars in cash. I đonate a little every day.. but now I hae ne money left.
And now I feel really bad.
Luv ya!!!
